Revisiting sound-based gameplay
After several years away from game development, I’ve returned to an old idea I first explored back in 2016 — a game built around sound-based navigation. Looking back at earlier prototypes and a 2019 demo helped me better understand what worked and what didn’t. Over the past few days, I’ve been actively testing mechanics and exploring a new visual direction, focusing on invisible platforming, audio cues, and simplicity. This post is a short reflection on that journey.
